If you're in search of fun kids activities these school holidays, take the little ones to Queens Park and join a hands-on paint pouring workshop. Parents are welcome to book also join in.
This method is wonderful for kids as it's impossible to make a mistake! The art workshop will kick off with a demonstration and some detailed explanations and tips before we get right into creating!
First up the kids will create a vibrant desert scene. They'll learn how how to mix the paint colours they have chosen to become the correct consistency to pour and pick up a few tips on composition and balance. The class has been kept intentionally small at a maximum of five students to allow to step by step guidance for each participant.
The second painting is an aerial ocean scene. Everyone will have the chance to choose their preferred colours with guidance on composition. The method shown for this is different to the previous painting as the ocean has flow and movement. With some more guidance, kids then pick what colours to choose to make the sandy beach section.
They'll be so proud to show their paintings to family and friends at the end of the session and they'll have all of the skills to continue creating at home.
Beginners welcome! The class is suited to ages 7 up as some patience is required.
